Football Expert Sutton Faces Off Against Singer Olly Murs in Top Flight Forecasts

Arsenal's 10-game winning run was ended by the Black Cats prior to the global hiatus, however will the English top division leaders bounce back against local foes Spurs this weekend?

"{I believe like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham currently but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a plan for this match," stated football expert Chris Sutton.

"Frank will try to nullify Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling finest this season - but Mikel Arteta's side usually still find a way to win."

The analyst is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this term, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

For week 12, he faces singer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

Murs' new record, Knees Up, is available on the weekend.

Soccer and Parenting Life

Murs is a talented footballer as well as a accomplished singer and has been a featured player of several Soccer Aid games down the years - but he is not intending a professional return as a player.

"{I actually played in a charity game the other night for a mate of mine," he explained. "My side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the 60th minute, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I continue to love football, but I injured my joint a few years ago and it still isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the unpredictability of the sport means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it seriously again.

"Plus I am forty-one now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my child or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his spouse Amelia Tank have two children, their daughter and their son, and he is prepared to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their coach.

"I will not force football on our children but I've already told my wife that if they do get the bug for it then I will have to go and get my coaching badges - and I will probably be managing their Saturday football side," he said.

"I observed my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I clearly owned a soccer team for a period too.

"My father did it with us when I was a child, which is likely where I inherited it. He coached our team for two or three seasons and had great fun with it. That could be the future for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

Premier League Predictions

Saturday, 22 November

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

Chelsea might have to wait a bit longer for their star's return from fitness issues but their offense is already more potent with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

In my opinion this game will be quite tight, though. Burnley are well organised and their sole at Turf Moor defeats so far have been against Liverpool and Arsenal.

It smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to go with the London side to edge it for what would be their third consecutive Premier League win in a row.

The expert's prediction: 1-2

Olly's pick: The Blues will be superior. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's outlook: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their past two matches - although both of them were on the road - but they got thoroughly beaten by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, West Ham won two in a row before the international break and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look competitive again.

West Ham's sole away win this campaign came at Nottingham Forest in the summer, when their boss Nuno Espirito Santo was still that team's manager.

Therefore, what exactly do I go with here - will it be West Ham continuing their streak under Nuno, or Bournemouth bouncing back?

I am going to go with the Cherries, because I believe what occurred against Villa was a anomaly.

Sutton's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: Bournemouth are doing well but the visitors have improved under their boss. 2-2

AI's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Bees were seen as one of the favourites for the drop before the campaign started, but they have surprised a few people under their manager and are in fine fettle with three in their last four matches.

A family member told me to select Bees striker Igor Thiago in my Fantasy Football team a few weeks back and, guess what, I didn't listen.

The forward will probably score again on Saturday but I am still not going to select him or back the away side at Amex Stadium.

They have not had much fortune on the road this term, and the Seagulls are always decent at home. The visitors will attempt to hit them on the counter-attack but I feel the home manager's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's prediction: 2-1

Olly's view: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it actually proves to be quite tight. 1-1

The computer's outcome: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

It is a massive game for Fulham, who have lost five of their past six matches.

Fulham have have plenty of quality in their squad but it still feels like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, indeed they are the unexpected success of the Premier League season so far.

Their display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We've not witnessed any other team rough up the North London side like that this term, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously capable of disrupting Fulham up too and, the last time they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the close of October.

However I am not do that. Instead, I truly need to continue going against the away team with my predictions. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly love to prove me wrong.

Considering the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is Arsenal. Marco Silva's team will be absolutely desperate for a positive outcome, so I am going to say they will pick up three points.

The expert's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I'm aware the visitors are doing well and additionally that the hosts are on a poor run... but they have still been decent at Craven Cottage this season. 2-0

The algorithm's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough one to call. Liverpool have suffered seven of their last ten matches in every tournament, but might they be one of the teams who benefit from the {international break|
