I will overwhelm 'credible combatant' Paul - Joshua
The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-round fight which will be shown live on the streaming platform.
British boxer Anthony Joshua stated he will "dominate completely" Jake Paul and "overpower" his opponent as the pair met personally to promote the upcoming bout.
Former two time world heavyweight champion Anthony Joshua battles social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, theoretically, a mammoth disparity - at Miami arena on 19 December.
Boxer's Mindset
"I plan to injure his face and break his body up. I aim to demonstrate I'm superior," the British boxer, 35 years old, declared.
"I will dominate him completely. That's how fighters think.
"I will really want to hurt him. That's what I want to do."
Respectful Exchange
In spite of such comments, a calm Anthony Joshua and social media star Paul - normally known for his theatrics - shared friendly words and remained civil with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "a joke" after the Cameroonian turned down a bout proposal.
Taking Aim at Tyson Fury
Joshua, at the same time, targeted UK rival Fury - and refused a £1m bet 'Tyson Fury' says he will place on a Paul victory.
"Jake Paul outshines Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Legitimate Fighter
In spite of stating he plans to damage his opponent, Joshua declined to comment unfavorably about his rival's boxing ability.
"Jake Paul is a legitimate boxer," he said.
Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.
He lost to British fighter Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Still, the inexperienced fighter remains one of the sport's biggest financial successes, frequently receiving huge paydays.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old forecast a stoppage in rounds four or five and claimed he would prevent the long-awaited Fury-Joshua bout, which is apparently being planned for two years from now.
"The next fight will be my match with Fury next year," Paul declared.
Physical Disparity
As the two fighters engaged in the customary face-off, with their height and weight contrast clearly visible, it drove home just how surprising this complete situation is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is really happening.
